Empowerment Initiatives
Schindler subscribes fully to the Employment Equity Act and other relevant statutes, facilitates joint ventures and leverages Schindler’s involvement in parastatals, government and private enterprise from an empowerment perspective. “Satisfactory Contributor to BEE” status achieved in terms of Ernst & Young’s BEE accreditation system. Short, medium and long term strategy applied, mapping out comprehensive BEE targets to maximises BEE linkages in procurement, management, employment equity, skills development and corporate social investment (CSI).

CSI: Through the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC), a branch of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Swiss companies in South Africa, Schindler has set up a trust committed to improving schools and vocational training in South Africa.

Strictly applies relevant local and international statutes inclusive of the OSHACT and Factories & Machinery Act.

ISO Rating
Accredited with the SABS ISO 9001: 2000 quality system registration (first lift company in SA to receive re-registration).
