Apprenticeships at Schindler
Our apprenticeship program has been highly successful and has been running in its new form for five years. We have on average a 95% competence / pass rate and a very low drop-out rate afterwards.
A major success indicator of this program is that we have a 100% employment rate at Schindler of learners after they have qualified . Our investment in this program has been worthy and we have received all grants back the MERSETA for our learners.

What has been the key success factor for these apprenticeships?
The fact that we have a dedicated training program for learners of which we track progress and learning on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Our training is highly practical and hands-on, balanced with the theoretical aspects. Our internal facilitator team is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and managing all aspects of the apprenticeship process.
We currently have apprentices in our MERSETA accredited Training School, in various phases of an exciting 3.5 year learning programme - an initiative which has grown considerably over the past 5-year period.
